Hello all! So, I decided that I was going to write my spring break blogs a little out of order. Instead of writing about London next, I wanted to skip to Paris. Paris was the very end of our very tiring but extremely fun spring break adventure.
Paris and I had a very complicated relationship. I knew that Janelle had visited Paris in high school, and if I’m remembering correctly, she really liked it, but I think she did like the south of France a little better. Either way, I was super excited for Paris but I do not feel like it met my expectations. In addition, they were on their 19th week of protesting, so on Saturday we had to avoid the city center because sometimes the protests turned into riots. I was sad that we kind of missed a day of enjoying Paris, but we did go to Versailles that day which was super beautiful. I struggled on what to write in this post because I really did not like the city, but I did one to talk about the one part of Paris that I absolutely LOVED.
The Eiffel Tower. The tallest structure in all of Paris, reaching 1,063 ft tall. I was first just in shock with how tall the tower was. I always knew that it would be really big, but I never expected it to be THAT big. Visitors come from all over just to see this beautiful tower. From most points in the city, you can see the beautiful tower.
I was super stressed about this blog post and what to write but I realized for Paris, their highest point is the Eiffel Tower, but I feel like that was, and still is Janelle for most of us. On Earth, she was always someone many of her friends and family looked up to. I know for me, that I wanted to be exactly like her, and to us she is perfect. She was the highest point in our lives because of her beauty of course, but also her positivity. She was an amazing leader and gave us all unconditional support in whatever we wanted to achieve in our lives. Since her passing, Janelle continues to be our highest point. We look to Janelle’s light and spirit when we are feeling down, to help us find the good, or just to add light into our lives. Janelle was strong and beautiful, just like the Eiffel Tower. We are all so lucky to have her beautiful soul in our lives, and I know we will always be able to view her as the highest point of our lives. Like Janelle, the Eiffel tower literally sparkles at night.
Besides the Eiffel Tower, I was able to see the Notre Dame church, The Louvre with the Mona Lisa, as well as a ton of other incredible pieces of art, the Paris Catacombs, and the Arc de Triomphe. My favorite part of the entire trip was watching the Eiffel Tower light up at night, and for five minutes every hour, literally sparkle. It was an extremely beautiful view, that I wished it would sparkle for longer. Overall, this trip was a great experience and I was really glad to be able to have the opportunity to go to these amazing places and have these experiences.
I was happy to be able to bring Janelle back to Paris, France with me, because I know it was a place she loved so much, it was an honor to go back with her.

Emma, Janelle would be flattered to be compared to the beautiful and breathtaking Eiffel Tower. You’re a sweet friend. I am biased but agree that Janelle is as beautiful, it not more than, as the Eifffel Tower. I loved Paris too. I hope you get to visit again during a more peaceful time. 💜🌻
